This year’s Young Collectors Council Party at Guggenheim New York, presented by LG Display, took over the institution’s famous rotunda for an evening celebrating the future of both art and collecting. Guests included gallerist Tina Kim, artist Tschabalala Self, musician and actor Moses Sumney, and model Ella Emhoff.
The 2025 party featured a performance in collective ‘motion witnessing’ by multidisciplinary New York artist LaJuné McMillian, which used LG OLED’s advanced technology throughout the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed space. Syncing live performers, digital avatars and projections in real time, McMillian transformed the rotunda to ‘amplify themes of embodiment, inner-child healing, spirituality and liberation’.
The evening also saw South Korea’s Ayoung Kim presented with the 2025 LG Guggenheim Award for her ‘transformative perspectives on how humanity interacts with and understands these new tools’. The LG Guggenheim Award is part of the LG Guggenheim Art and Technology Initiative, a multifaceted collaboration designed to research, honour and promote artists working at the intersection of art and technology.
Funds raised from the evening benefitted the Guggenheim and the YCC Art Fund, which supports emerging and established contemporary artists, impacting the museum’s permanent collection, exhibition programme and education initiatives.
