Erskine, Hall & Coe was founded in 2011 by Matthew Hall and James Erskine. The gallery is located in 15 Royal Arcade, London, a space long associated with the very best of classic and contemporary ceramics since Galerie Besson opened its doors there in 1988. Matthew joined Galerie Besson in 2000, working there until Anita Besson retired in 2011, and he went on to open Erskine, Hall & Coe.
We specialise in ceramic art but also explore the interplay between ceramics and two-dimensional work. We carry an extensive stock of works by classic artists including Hans Coper, Ruth Duckworth, Gwyn Hanssen Pigott, Lucie Rie, James Tower and Gertrud Vasegaard. We also regularly hold exhibitions of established and up-and-coming contemporary artists, such as Yo Akiyama, Karen Bennicke, Claudi Casanovas, Sara Flynn, Genta Ishizuka, Jennifer Lee, Machiko Ogawa, Matt Wedel and Shozo Michikawa.
