The fourth edition of ‘Now & Next’, supported by CHANEL, will launch this summer. The series connects today’s leading Korean artists with the country’s next generation of rising stars. Each episode sees an established Korean artist choose an emerging talent for a revealing conversation about their backgrounds, inspirations and practices, as well as broader questions about the art and culture of Korea right now. The conversations range across ideas of home and landscape, imagination and travel, and tradition and modernity.
The artists also explore themes such as time and connectivity, their relationship with Seoul – a city at the intersection of global art – and the impact of a rapidly changing world.
The dialogues are characterized by a profound mutual respect and interest in the artists’ respective practices, and a huge willingness to learn from another generation. The cumulative result is a vital insight into the contemporary Korean art world.
